Murrow Painting has proudly served Wichita homeowners for over 30 years. The company was founded by Randy Murrow, a man known not only for his craftsmanship, but for the way he treated people—with honesty, pride, and a genuine care for every home and every customer he served.

In 2021, during what would have been his 30th season in business, Randy became unexpectedly ill. What started as a COVID diagnosis quickly turned into something far more serious, and within weeks, his health declined rapidly. Surrounded by his family, Randy passed away on September 19, 2021.

His loss was devastating—not only to our family, but to the many homeowners who had come to trust and rely on him over the years.

At the time, his youngest son Weston was in college, pursuing a degree in business and playing baseball, with plans to continue his education even further. But when his father passed, everything changed. With no roadmap left behind and a family depending on the business, Weston made the decision to step away from school and step into a role he had never been formally trained for.

What followed were some of the most challenging years of his life—learning how to lead, how to run a business, and how to carry the weight of a legacy that meant so much to so many people. With the help of a few loyal team members who had worked alongside Randy, Weston began to find his footing. He rebuilt systems, modernized the business, and committed himself to earning the same trust his father had built over decades.

Just as things began to stabilize, tragedy struck again. In 2024, Weston’s mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away only a few months later. Once again, the foundation of the family was shaken.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant—the desire to honor Randy’s life and legacy.

Today, Murrow Painting is still built on the same principles it always has been: honesty, quality workmanship, and taking care of people. Weston continues to carry that forward every day, not just as a business owner, but as a son determined to make his father proud.

Because at Murrow Painting, this is more than just painting homes.
